Responsible for ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. customs regulations for import/export activities. This role manages customs documentation, resolves customs and logistics issues, liaises with authorities, and mitigates compliance risk across cross-border operations.

Responsibilities:

Ensure import/export compliance with all applicable customs laws and trade regulations
Classify goods using HTS and ensure accurate valuation and duty assessment
Prepare, file, and review customs documentation (e.g., invoices, COO, CUSMA/USMCA, FDA)
Monitor regulatory changes and implement compliance updates
Manage duty drawback, refunds, certificates, and trusted trader programs (CSA, PIP)
Liaise with customs authorities, support audits, and maintain compliance records
Conduct internal audits and support logistics teams; provide guidance to coordinators
Audit supplier invoices and support issue escalation as needed

Qualifications:

3–5 years customs compliance experience; brokerage experience preferred
Strong knowledge of CBSA, CBP, HTS, CSA, AMPS, and trade regulations
Experience across ocean, air, rail, and truck modes
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Customs Broker License or CCS
Experience in food, chemical, or 3PL industries
Bilingual (English/French) and/or project management or Six Sigma certification
