We are partnering with a leading organization in the high-tech manufacturing industry seeking a Materials Manager to lead and coordinate all program-related supply chain activities. This key individual will serve as the main liaison between program managers, integrated product teams (IPTs), functional leads, and the broader supply chain organization.

The Materials Manager will play a strategic and operational leadership role, developing and executing material strategies that align with corporate and program objectives. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to build schedule-driven material requirements planning (MRP) strategies that ensure delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support all materials management and supply chain activities from program initiation through contract closure.
     
  • Develop and implement material and procurement strategies, including risk and opportunity management, bids, forecasts, and master production plans (MPP).
     
  • Drive materials and supply chain execution to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
     
  • Provide clear and timely program reporting, including cost reviews and management briefings.
     
  • Support proposals, contract negotiations, and supplier performance initiatives.
     
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders such as engineering, operations, and quality.
     
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts, including digital transformation and compliance with cybersecurity and export control requirements.
     
  • Support supplier communication, corrective actions, and related activities.
     

Qualifications – Must Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 8 years of related experience
     
  • Strong background in supply chain management, procurement, production control/material planning, and/or logistics
     
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams
     
  • Experience in supplier or subcontract management
     
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute risk and opportunity plans
     

Qualifications – Nice to Have

  • Experience in high-tech or precision manufacturing environments
     
  • Supply Chain or Project Management certification (e.g., APICS, PMP, SCMP)
     
  • Experience translating customer contracts into supplier requirements
     
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, ProductCenter)
     
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical capability
     
  • Familiarity with Canadian or U.S. export control regulations
     
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
