The Opportunity

Threelinx is partnering with a growing food manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Packaging Consultant to provide strategic support on a fractional basis.

This engagement is ideal for a seasoned packaging professional who enjoys working cross-functionally to drive packaging innovation, support commercialization initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and identify opportunities for cost savings and sustainability improvements.

Working closely with Procurement, R&D, Continuous Improvement, Operations, and Production teams, the successful consultant will play a key role in evaluating the organization’s current packaging capabilities and helping define its future packaging strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current packaging processes, resources, and organizational structure
  • Identify opportunities to improve packaging performance, efficiency, and scalability
  • Support new product launches and commercialization initiatives
  • Collaborate with Procurement on packaging sourcing strategies and supplier engagement
  • Partner with R&D and Operations to evaluate packaging materials and specifications
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining product quality and performance
  • Drive packaging sustainability initiatives and material optimization efforts
  • Provide recommendations regarding future packaging resources, capabilities, and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across packaging-related processes
  • Act as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to internal stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Packaging, Packaging Engineering, Packaging Development, or Packaging Procurement
  • Previous experience within Food Manufacturing, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or related industries
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials, specifications, manufacturing processes, and commercialization requirements
  • Experience driving packaging innovation, optimization, and cost savings initiatives
  • Knowledge of sustainability trends and packaging improvement opportunities
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Procurement, R&D, Operations, Production, and Continuous Improvement teams
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills
  • Ability to assess current-state processes and provide practical, actionable recommendations
